How a reply gets printed.
- Notice. Every named subject is sent a copy of the receipt with the source documents at least seventy-two hours before publication.
- Reply window. Replies received on the record within the window print in full alongside the receipt.
- Late replies. Replies received after publication still print here, with the date received and the date received vs. the date published.
- No paraphrase. We do not paraphrase. If you don't want to be quoted, say so on the record and we will note that you declined to comment.
- No off-the-record. If a reply comes off the record, we will not print it. The Wall of Shame will note the receipt went out without a reply.
